Biography: Anthony Gourley

Anthony Gourley began his racing career at the age of 4, racing go-karts and accompanying his grandfather and mother to an assortment of tracks, all over the West coast. A promising Sprint Car driving career was put on hold to attend college at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In Santa Barbara Anthony opened various companies and became an entrapreour Soon after graduating in 2000. Anthony once again began pursing his racing career by entering local go-karting events and races to regain his coordination and driving skills. In 2004 Anthony became a fulltime driver, racing in the Corporate American Modified Series at Altamont Raceway. Winning an astounding five main events in 2004 in just seven races, and never finished lower than fourth place.

Anthony's accolades and successes don't end there, though. This year, at Altamont Raceway, he has ten main event wins in just twelve races, with one more yet to be run this year. Following the July 16th race, where he was again the main event winner, it was announced (shortly before his 45 minute interview with the track announcer) that Anthony had already claimed the Points Championship for 2005 in the Corporate American Modified Series.

Anthony is making the jump to the next level in 2006, racing the Nascar Weekly Racing Series at Stockton 99 Speedway, and the ASA Monument Car Parts Super Stock Series at Altamont Raceway. In addition, Highroller Motorsports plans to enter him in additional racing events at other tracks throughout the state (on non-race weekends at Altamont or Stockton 99 speedways).

In Anthony's spare time, he is the head Junior Varsity Field Hockey coach at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California. Anthony's team is the three time defending league champions and have not lost a single game in more then three years. There current record 65-0.
